Sony Ericsson has officially launched the transparent Xperia X5 Pureness. Featuring a see-through screen, the Pureness is aimed squarely at the high-end lifestyle market, with a number of premium touches and a decidedly minimalist approach to features. Read on for more transparent tidbits…The Pureness isn’t the first transparent phone we’ve seen. Earlier this year, LG debuted the Crystal, which wowed the crowds thanks to its transparent keypad. Sony Ericsson has taken the opposite approach, and it’s a bit of a bonkers decision.
The screen itself is only 1.8in, and isn’t even in colour. Being transparent, there’s no room for a camera inside either. You do at least get more basic features like 3G, a web browser and FM radio. At the other end of the scale, the Pureness comes with a 12-month subscription to Quintissentially, a personal concierge service that’s there to be your personal Jeeves 24 hours a day.
